Peter Klasen est un artiste allemand qui s’est installé à Paris en 1959. Il a rejoint l’Avant-Garde internationale à Paris, fuyant une Allemagne d’après-guerre, divisée et vaincue. Il fait partie des artistes qui ont renouvelé la peinture figurative en opposition à l’abstraction.
Ses peintures se distinguent par l’utilisation d’un aérographe. Ses œuvres représentent des corps féminins entrelacés avec des objets sanitaires, mécaniques et utilitaires. Il dépeint sa vision d’une société transformée par la modernité et les conflits de cette vie moderne.

Peter Klasen is a German artist who settled in Paris in 1959. He joined the international Avant-Garde in Paris, fleeing post-war defeated and divided Germany. He is among the artists who renewed figurative painting in opposition to abstraction.
His paintings are recognizable by the use of an airbrush. His artworks are representing female bodies intertwined with sanitary, machinist and utilitarian objects. He depicts his vision of society changed by modernity and the conflicts of this modern life.
