Glass tray, by Boris LACROIX (1902-1984) This glass tray can be used as a table centre piece. It was designed by Boris Lacroix in the 1930's and is a very fine example of the French Modernist style. Boris Lacroix was a famous Modernist designer alongside J. Adnet or R. Mallet-Stevens. It is made of glass partly treated as a mirror, blackened wood and nickel plated metal. La qualité de l'émail est remarquable comme toujours avec Camille Fauré qui a fait revivre le célèbre art de l'émail de Limoges datant du Moyen-Age. It has the shape of an egg made of copper fully covered with polychromatic and translucent enamel representing flowers. The quality of the enamel is outstanding as always with Camille Fauré who revived the famous Limoges enamel art dating back to the Middle Age. It is mounted on a base and collar made of brass. Usual Gold signature in the enamel at the bottom "C. Fauré Limoges". Very good condition. It is electrified and wired for European use. Le vase est en forme de boule et décoré de fleurs accolé les unes aux autres de couleurs roses et rouges sur un fond se dégradant ; de couleur bleu clair vers le col et jusqu’à des couleurs vertes terreuses vers la base afin de créer une impression de sol. Epreuve en émaux de Limoges polychrome sur âme en laiton, techniques très exigeante dont Limoges eu le savoir-faire. Le vase est signée à l’or « C. Fauré Limoges France » et légendée sous la base en noir « EMAUX DE LIMOGES PAR C. FAURE ». ce qui est typique de la période Art Déco des vases produits par Camille Fauré. Dimensions : 16.5 x 18x 18 cm ______________________________________________________________________________________________ The vase is ball-shaped and decorated with flowers adjoined to each other in pink and red colors on a deteriorating background; light blue color towards the collar and up to earthy green colors towards the base to create a ground impression. Enamel proof of Limoges polychrome on brass core, very demanding techniques of which Limoges had the know-how. The vase is signed with gold «C. Fauré Limoges France» and captioned under the black base «EMAUX DE LIMOGES PAR C. FAURE». which is typical of the Art Deco period of the vases produced by Camille Fauré.
