LAFUGIE Léa (1890-1972), Portrait d’une jeune Cambodgienne, huile sur panneau, 33 x 23,5 cm Léa Lafugie est une peintre française née à Paris, connue pour ses portraits et paysages issus de ses voyages. Elle étudie à l’Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, puis à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts et commence sa carrière en exposant au Salon des Artistes Indépendants. Passionnée depuis son plus jeune âge par les récits de voyages et d’aventures,elle décide de partir dès 1924 en Afrique du Nord, puis en 1925 en Asie. Elle séjourne en Inde, en Birmanie, au Tibet, puis dans la péninsule indochinoise et en extrême Orient. Durant ces voyages, elle ne cesse de peindre et de représenter ce qu’elle découvre et les personnes qu’elle rencontre. Ce portrait a été réalisé lors d’un voyage au Cambodge, il représente une jeune fille concentrée sur son ouvrage. De ce portrait émane une grande douceur et sérénité. C’est une huile sur panneau de bois qui provient de la célèbre collection Jean-Paul Gérard-Pau, signée en bas à gauche. Datation : entre 1925-1930, dates où Léa Lafugie s’est rendue en Asie. She studied at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris and later at the Academy of Fine Arts, beginning her career by exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants. Passionate about travel and adventure from a young age, she decided to embark on a journey in 1924 to North Africa and then in 1925 to Asia. She stayed in India, Burma, Tibet, the Indochinese peninsula, and the Far East. Throughout these travels, she continued to paint the sights and people she encountered. This oil painting on a wooden panel was painted during a journey to Cambodia. It depicts a young girl focused on her work. Art Deco dressing table with stool by Krieger, circa 1925.Rosewood dressing table with arrow-tip legs and wound motif feet. Three side drawers, two drawers decorated with floral adornment marquetry (made of mixed exotic woods, metal and ivoirine). Silver plated circular mirror. Two small lighted bronze torcheres. The round stool is covered with an old grey fabric and has a same color cushion.
Krieger stamp on the lock. House Krieger was a famous cabinetmaker in the 1920s-1930s established 74 Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris (12th arrondissement). Wired for European use.

KLASEN Peter (né en 1935), “Expérience I”, 1972, acrylique sur carton, signé, daté, titré au dos. Exceptionnelle peinture réalisée par Peter Klasen en 1972. Peter Klasen est un artiste allemand, installé à Paris en 1959 rejoignant l’avant-garde internationale parisienne et fuyant cette Allemagne déchirée et ruinée d’après-guerre. Il fait partie de ces artistes des années 1960 qui renouvellent la peinture figurative en opposition à l’abstraction. Ses œuvres, reconnaissables par un usage de l’aérographe, sont composées de corps, souvent féminins, mêlés à des objets sanitaires, machiniques, utilitaires. Ses œuvres traitent de sa vision d’une société transformée par la modernité, des conflits de la vie moderne, des villes traumatisantes, aliénantes. Cette œuvre est exceptionnelle car c’est une œuvre de la meilleure et plus intéressante période de l’artiste (années 1960-1970). Les œuvres de cette période sont caractérisées par un usage du gris, blanc et noir ; elles sont les plus recherchées. L’œuvre est vendue avec un certificat délivré par l’artiste le 14 septembre 1982. Peter Klasen is a German artist settled in Paris in 1959. He joined the international Avant-Garde in Paris, fleeing post-war defeated and divided Germany. He is among the artists who renew figurative painting in opposition to abstraction. His paintings are recognizable by the use of an airbrush. His artworks are representing female bodies intertwined with sanitary, machinist and utilitarian objects. He depicts his vision of a society changed by modernity, the conflicts of this modern life, and the traumatizing cities. This painting belongs to his most sought after production period (1960-1970’s). His works from this period are characterized by the use of black, gray and white. Très rare sculpture en bois (bois de cerisier) d'une Africaine par Karl Hagenauer (1898-1956). Le buste est taillé en profil, réalisé dans une seule pièce de bois sur une base ovale plate en laiton. Cette pièce a été sculptée vers 1930. Signée sous la base "Hagenauer Wien handmade" avec le cachet WHW. Très bonne condition. Very rare wooden sculpture (cherry tree wood) of an African lady by Karl Hagenauer (1898-1956). it is carved as a profile, made out of a single piece of wood on a flat oval brass base. This piece was carved circa 1930. Signed under the base "Hagenauer Wien handmade" with the stamp WHW. Very good condition. -

Superbe lampe de table moderniste de Jean-Boris Lacroix, circa 1930. Cette lampe a été produite par Mitis, un studio de design français de premier plan pendant la période Art déco. La structure est en métal chromé et verre sablé. Elle dispose de 2 ampoules : une dans le cylindre en verre inférieur et une dans l'abat-jour en verre de la partie supérieure. Un interrupteur sous la partie inférieure permet d'allumer chaque ampoule séparément ou les deux ampoules. Il est en très bon état. Cette lampe est l'une des icônes de la période Art déco moderniste française. Câblée pour une utilisation européenne. Elle mesure 46 cm de haut pour un diamètre de 25 cm. Jean-Boris Lacroix était l'un des principaux créateurs de lampes et de vases vers 1930 ; il a également été directeur créatif de la célèbre maison de couture française Madeleine Vionnet entre 1924 et 1937. It is made of Chromed metal and sandblasted glass. It has 2 light bulbs : one in the bottom glass cylinder and one in the upper part glass shade. A switch below the bottom part allows to turn on each bulb separately or both of the light bulbs. It is in very good condition. This lamp is one of the icon of the modernist French Art Deco period. It is wired for European use. It is 46cm high with a 25cm diameter. Jean-Boris Lacroix was a leading designer of lamps and vases around 1930; he was as well creative director of the famous French fashion house Madeleine Vionnet between 1924 and 1937.
